BASES Outreach Project Team

The BASES Board has recently agreed to establish a BASES Outreach Project Team, the aim of which is to increase public engagement and awareness of BASES. Further to the call for expressions of interest to join the new Outreach Project Team, we are delighted to announce that the following members have been appointed:

Prof John Dickinson FBASES (Chair), Mastveer Ghatahora, Dr Sarah Gilchrist FBASES, Dr James Johnstone, Prof Zoe Knowles FBASES, George Mitchell, Dr Sarah Powell, Dr Andy Sparks

Commenting on the formation of the new Team, Prof John Dickinson FBASES, the Project Team Chair, said: “It is great that this new opportunity has generated interest from our members, who are keen to be involved and help to move things forward. In the first instance, the Team will come together to develop a short-, medium-, and long-term project plan for the Board to consider. Amongst a number of objectives and deliverables, the plan will include ways to embed outreach into the BASES Annual and Student conferences, consideration of a new annual BASES outreach fund for members to apply to, and the creation of outreach resources to engage with primary and secondary schools. ”

Updates on progress made will be shared with members across the various BASES communication channels.
