Science Council Recognition Award and Nomination for CASES Members

The Science Council’s annual Celebration of Science took place on Tuesday 2 December 2025, bringing together professionals from across the scientific landscape to recognise the individuals and organisations who are driving progress, championing professionalism, and elevating the science workforce.
Each year, the event provides an invaluable opportunity to celebrate excellence, share ideas, and acknowledge the remarkable contributions that strengthen the scientific community.

This year, CASES Fellow and Chartered Scientist, Professor Andy Lane FCASES was awarded the Chartered Scientist (CSci) Award. This award was presented to Andy to celebrate his contribution as ‘an outstanding scientist who exemplifies true professionalism in their field’.
Registrant Recognition Award Winners are current registrants who have demonstrated excellence in a wide range of areas, from promoting professional registration and mentoring others, to excelling in Continuing Professional Development and championing fairness, equality and inclusiveness.
Andy said,
“The Science Council award is a tremendous honour, especially given the strength of competition across the scientific workforce. It’s a real pleasure to be recognised for work that reflects. I’m proud to contribute to a community that continues to raise standards and develop the next generation of sport and exercise scientists.”
All nominees for the awards were recognised for their exceptional dedication, professional excellence and a commitment to advancing science for societal benefit.
CASES Member, Amelia Dingley MCASES and Joint Chair of the CASES Technical Special Interest Group was a recognised nominee at the celebration event.
Amelia said,
“It is such an honour to have been nominated by CASES for the CSci Award at the Science Council’s Celebration of Science. This recognition reflects the collective achievements of our Technical Special Interest Group since coming together just 12 months ago, It means a great deal to see the contribution of technicians acknowledged in this way. Celebrating the successes of colleagues across science was inspiring, and I’d like to extend my congratulations to Andy on his award.”
