Opportunities to get involved in a new BASES’ AI Advisory Group
5th February 2025
BASES is inviting members with an expertise in Artificial Intelligence to join a new AI Advisory Group. The purpose of the Group will be to create a resource published by CASES which i) highlights the areas where AI is relevant to the discipline and profession of Sport and Exercise Science and which ii) signposts members to expert information. This work will build on the Association’s Position Stand on AI and Assessment which can be found here.
We are looking to attract members who can contribute to both the technical and transformational aspects of AI in the field of Sport and Exercise Science. We are seeking expertise across both traditional AI applications and emerging technologies like LLMs.
The appointment of the roles will be via a formal, open and transparent recruitment process, with the aim of attracting the widest range of the most suitable talent. At BASES, we are committed to Fairness, Professionalism, Honesty, Responsibility and Excellence. We strive to improve our ways of working to be more inclusive and diverse, to accelerate our impact on society and live up to our Values. We acknowledge that we lack representation from various underrepresented groups and therefore strongly encourage applications that will amplify the voices of people with a disability, those from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds, women or gender diverse people in STEMM and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Please notify the Chief Executive Officer (iwilson@bases.org.uk) if you require reasonable adjustments throughout the application process.
If you would like to discuss the planned work of this new Group before making an application, please email the Chief Executive Officer (iwilson@bases.org.uk).
To apply for these vacancies, please submit a 250-word expression of interest summarising your interest and expertise in the area. Please email this to iwilson@bases.org.uk by noon on Thursday 6 March 2025. Please mark this email as confidential and within the subject header, please include ‘BASES’ AI Advisory Group expression of interest’.
