The following opportunities may be of interest to BASES Early Career Research Scientists:
The Foundation for Science and Technology is promoting Foundation Future Leaders Annual Conference, being held at the University of Birmingham on 8 November 2024, entitled Building Careers and Skills in Science and Technology for National and Global Challenges. Participants can also join this conference online. This event is free and open to all. It is particularly targeted at early- to mid-career professionals in the civil and wider public service, in industry and from the wider research community, whose roles are in some way connected with science, engineering, technology or innovation. For the draft conference programme, and to register to attend either in person or online, please click here.
Applications are also now open for the Foundation Future Leaders Programme 2025, which is an annual programme targeted at early- to mid-career professionals from the same backgrounds as noted above. The closing date for applications is noon on 18 November, and all the details of the scheme are here.
Applications are invited from early-career research scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians for the opportunity to exhibit at STEM for BRITAIN, a major scientific poster competition and exhibition which has been held in Parliament since 1997, organised by the Parliamentary & Scientific Committee. Chaired by Stephen Metcalfe MP, its aim is to give members of both Houses of Parliament an insight into the outstanding research work being undertaken in UK universities by early-career researchers. The deadline is 25 November 2024, and all of the details of the initiative are here.
