Overview | This workshop aims to introduce and facilitate the discussion about enhancing inclusivity through teaching and learning in the realm of sport and exercise science. Attendees will learn about the principles of inclusive curricula and its implications for sport and exercise scientists. The facilitators will share their experiences of success measures, challenges and sustainability of this work. We hope the attendees will leave more confident about including the students in designing and delivering a more inclusive curricula, and with some practical tools on how to do it. | This workshop aims to introduce the CCAT and offer opportunity to support ongoing work in the areas of climate change and sustainability within SES. Within the workshop we will also share insight into the development of guiding pillars and principles to support the implementation of climate change and sustainability education into the SES curriculum. We aim to share evidence-based research and hope discussions around this theme will support attendees in their own teaching, research and applied practice. | Join us to celebrate Clinical Exercise Physiology as a Registered Healthcare Profession. You will hear from a variety of inspirational speakers, including academics, CEPs and healthcare professionals. The keynote speech will be delivered by Prof Mike Grocott (University of Southampton). Prof Andrew Davies (University of Southampton) will launch the Perioperative Quality Initiative (POQI) Prehab in Oesophageal Cancer Consensus and Prof Greg Whyte (Liverpool John Moores University) will lead a roundtable discussion. There will also be opportunities to network with fellow CEPs. | This course is specifically aimed at providing researchers in the field of sport and exercise sciences with an introduction to the theory and practice of (f)NIRS to measure oxygenation in muscle and brain tissue. This introduction course will be divided into two different parts: Theoretical background (the theory and technology behind (f)NIRS; (f)NIRS applications in the field of sport and exercise science; applicable experimental setup and analysis methods) and Practical hands-on session (put the acquired theoretical knowledge into practice and perform different (f)NIRS experiments from set-up to simple data analysis). |
