BASES and The American College of Sports Medicine sign a Partnership Agreement
26th November 2024
BASES and the ACSM are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement. The American College of Sports Medicine® (ACSM) serves as the largest sports medicine and exercise science organisation in the world, with nearly 50,000 international, national and regional members and certified fitness professionals. The ACSM’s mission is to educate and empower professionals to advance the science and practice of health and human performance.
The agreement aims to increase opportunities for members of both organisations within CPD, research and collaboration. The organisations hold a reciprocal agreement allowing both ACSM and BASES members access to discounted CPD, events and conferences.
This agreement mirrors those held with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) and Sports and Exercise Science New Zealand (SESNZ) further strengthening our international relationships.
ACSM’s Interim CEO, Katie Feltman, commented
“We are excited to partner with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) to expand access to cutting-edge science and professional development for exercise professionals worldwide. This collaboration aligns with American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) mission to advance health and human performance by providing our members with enhanced educational resources. Together, ACSM and BASES will empower its professionals to elevate standards of care and improve health through the power of movement.”

“The American College of Sports Medicine is the world leader in global sports medicine and exercise science reach and the operationalisation of the memorandum of understanding between the ACSM and CASES will enable members of both organisations to benefit from a large catalogue of continuing professional development resources.
