Anglia Ruskin University confirmed as BASES Student Conference 2023 hosts

BASES Student Conference 2023 will be hosted by Anglia Ruskin University, on their Cambridge campus, on 24-25 April 2023. 2023 marks the centenary of the publication of A.V. Hill’s seminal work on VO_2max, which was undertaken in the city of Cambridge. The conference will be themed around this and other historical perspectives informing contemporary Sport & Exercise Sciences, whilst also celebrating the innovative research and applied practices students are engaged with and are shaping the future of our discipline. 

The excellent and well-thought application impressed the BASES Board who liked the main theme of the application and the simultaneous virtual conference option. Making the online sessions available post-event was also viewed as a positive initiative. 

Commenting on accepting the confirmation, Dr Matthew Timmis, Co-Chair of the Organising Committee said, "The Sport & Exercise Sciences Team here at ARU are excited to welcome the BASES student community and have the opportunity to showcase our beautiful city of Cambridge."
