AI in Teaching and Assessment

3rd July 2023

In response to the impact that Artificial Intelligence is having across the Sport and Exercise Science sector, a small group of volunteers is working on a Position Stand for the Association. Whilst addressing ‘the big picture’, this Position Stand will focus on providing guidance on the impact of AI on how we assess students. It is envisaged that this work will be published no later than November 2023. The Team working on this project are drawn from our Education and Teaching Special Interest Group along with the Chair of our Public and External Affairs Advisory Panel: Dr Eddie Bradley, Professor Joanne Hudson FBASES, Dr Sarah Powell, Dr Oliver Runswick and Dr Andy Smith FBASES. It envisaged that this project will be the first of many BASES initiatives on AI.

BASES stands for the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences. BASES is the professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK.
